Timeline
This workshop takes place on July 10 and 11, 2019.  There will be an evening session on the 10th, a morning session on the 11th, and an evening session on the 11th.  Each session will be 90 minutes long  and will consist of approximately ten runs of the horses through water.  The horses will be cared for by the Guardians of the Carmargue.

Location
The Camargue is located in the south of France on the shores of the Mediterranean Ocean.  You would be staying in a small hotel in the town of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer which is located 1.5 hours by car from the International Airport in the big city of Marseille.  There are plenty of small hotels in Sainte-Maries-de-la-Mer.  Check Booking.com, VRBO.com and AirBnB.com for availability.

You would want to fly to the city of Marseille, rent a car, and then drive to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.    Return flights for these dates from New York cost $900 on Expedia and small hotels cost about $200 per night.  
The Camargue is located at the town of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer on the Mediterranean Ocean.  There are plenty of small hotels in this town.
Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer is a 1.5 hour drive from the Marseille International Airport
Your Hosts
Tim Shields is a landscape photographer, explorer and photography coach from White Rock, BC, Canada.  He is the winner of the 2018 Nature Photographer of the Year Award from Master Photographers International and he loves taking photographs of the great outdoors.  He is the creator of a number of Lightroom preset collections as well as online photography and Lightroom courses.  
Patrice Aguilar is a an award-winning professional photographer based in the south of France.  He has been photographing the horses of the Camargue for the past 15 years and he leads photography workshops all over the world.  He has published his own book on the horses of the Camargue and he sells his photos at various galleries and shows.
What is Included
This is a very unique opportunity to get full access to the horses as they run through water.  Your hosts, Tim Shields and Patrice Aguilar will be available to answer questions and help you get set up.  We will be photographing the horses alongside you.

Food, transportation, lodging, and travel and medical insurance are not included.  We will meet at the shooting location very close to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer before each photo session.  You will need your own transportation to get there.

So Much More To See...
The timing of this workshop is PERFECT to experience and photograph France.  The world famous lavender fields of southern France will be in full bloom at this time.  The town of Valensole (1.5 hours away) provides the best photo opportunities of the lone tree on the horizon with long leading lines of lavender rows in the foreground.  If this is something you are considering, then you will want to shoot the lavender first, before the Camargue because of harvest times.  Also, the Bastille Day fireworks on July 14th at the Eiffel Tower is incredible.   Check out some of Tim's photos from France below.
