Have you walked across the Brooklyn Bridge?

February 10, 2016 / Tim Shields
This was a challenging composition to shoot and process. First, there are hundreds of people walking across this bridge while stopping and chatting away non stop. Holy busy place! Finding a spot to set up a tripod is next to impossible on this narrow walkway. It was even more difficult to find a gap in the walkers to shoot the bridge without a crowd being in the shot. Second, there was light coming from spotlights all over the place. My shadow was unavoidable, which is something that really bugs me about this image. Third, the bridge shakes like crazy which means long exposures would not be sharp. Fourth, there are two cops posted at either end of the center span of the bridge who were eyeing me up. I expected them to come take away my camera at any second.
This image was made with three photos bracket shot at different exposures.
